We are located close to downtown Cincinnati, adjacent to Xavier University and a 10-minute drive from The University of Cincinnati. Our personnel work both at the home office and also on-base at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. We partner with other companies, consultants and academics to form exceptional teams conducting exceptional research. Our customers include AFRL, The U.S. Navy, SAIC, Ball Aerospace, Emerson Electric, Proctor and Gamble and many other government and commercial entities.
Our company provides a close, informal, small-company like environment that enables capable, inspired, innovative researchers to thrive. At Etegent you see the difference you make for your company, for your colleagues, for your customers and for yourself.
Etegent Technologies, Ltd., formerly Sheet Dynamics, Ltd. (or SDL), was founded in 1996 by two academic researchers whose goal was to put state-of-the-art university research into products and services for commercial enterprises. The company principals, Stuart J. Shelley and Thomas D. Sharp, earned their Ph.D. degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the company remains headquartered in Cincinnati and continues its close ties to the University.
Much of Etegent's early work focused on monitoring and improving rolling mill processes, hence the initial name, Sheet Dynamics, Ltd. Etegent's activities and expertise rapidly evolved beyond this area however.
In Early 2010, we sought a new name which would more accurately reflect the capability and activity of the company. After much consideration, we realized that the essence of what we do is find hidden knowledge and understanding in data and complex physical systems. Our new name reflects this: Etegent is Latin for "to reveal that which is hidden," which perfectly describes the work we do.
We have developed a broad client base including the Air Force, Navy, Army, the National Science Foundation, NASA, and numerous other commercial customers and prime defense contractors. Etegent forms close partnerships with its clients, in effect becoming an integral part of their research and development staff.
We strive to be recognized as the premier company providing outstanding, creative solutions to the most difficult problems experienced in developing high technology products and processes.
Etegent is committed to forming strong mutually valuable relationships with our customers, partners, and associates. We measure the success of meeting our mission by asking our stakeholders one question: "Would you recommend us to your peers?"
