Andy Niklas has joined Etegent’s ISR Group as a Research Scientist, based in the Cincinnati office. Andy has many years of experience in signal and image processing of remote sensing satellite system data, across a wide range of modalities and missions including persistent infrared (PIR), hyperspectral (HSI), electro-optical (EO), acoustic and radar. Andy received his PhD from Wright State University in Interdisciplinary Applied Science and Mathematics in 2018. He and his wife Maureen have recently moved to Cincinnati and simultaneously had their second child – a busy time for the Niklas family.

We are thrilled to have Andy on the team!

Etegent’s Richard Roth presented at the 2018 Turbine Engine Technology Symposium in Dayton, Ohio. In a presentation titled " Waveguide sensors for Improved Turbine Engine Performance and Readiness" he reviewed recent developments and prototype  demonstrations of Etegent waveguide vibration sensors for monitoring bearin health in extremely difficult to access applications. Other information presented included the application of Etegent's waveguide temperature sensing technology for measuring temperatures in excess of 3000 Degrees Faherheit in oxidizing environments.
