On May 8, 2010, a 10-person crew from Etegent teamed up with People Working Cooperatively (PWC), a non-profit organization serving low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners, as part of the annual Repair Affair. The event attracted more than 800 volunteers from across Cincinnati to provide necessary home repairs and modifications that enable low-income, elderly and disabled residents to remain safely in their homes.
“The annual Repair Affair is a great community event and team-building experience,” said Bahr. “Despite the fact that the majority of our team was engineers, not all of us are handy with the hammer, but we were able to pitch in, work together and help some of the most deserving people in Cincinnati improve their living conditions and prepare their homes for the warm summer.”
Etegent’s team included Brian Bahr and son, Jarrod; Steve Goley; Adam Hehr; Chris Larson; Uriah Liggett and son, Max; as well as Etegent founders, Tom Sharp and Stu Shelley. The crew repaired several toilets, gutters, leaky faucets and dry wall, fixed garage door and drainage problems, painted and made several weatherization improvements. Etegent supplied all the tools and labor while PWC and Lowe’s provided the necessary materials.
