Kevin Sigmund has joined the company as a research engineer. Sigmund comes to Etegent after completing his master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He is also a graduate of Miami University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Sigmund will work in Etegent’s R&D division, which is focused on finding subtle, hidden knowledge and understanding in measured sensor data and complex physical systems.
During his master’s program, Sigmund also worked as a design engineer for Emerson Network Power in Columbus, Ohio. During his time at Emerson, he improved the accuracy of psychometric room tests conducted on datacenter air-conditioning units in a test lab; a project that was nominated for the Liebert Corporation Departmental Engineering Award. Sigmund also worked as a co-op at The United States Playing Card Company within its manufacturing and R&D environment, and was a teaching assistant at Miami University’s School of Engineering & Applied Sciences.
“We continue to work with the University of Cincinnati to find high quality engineering talent,” said Stuart Shelley, principal at Etegent. “When we look for new people to join our company, not only do we need someone that will fit into our culture, we need someone who can hit the ground running. Kevin brings that capability to our team, and we look forward to his ongoing contributions to our success.”
