Etegent awarded Phase I SBIR Contract for High Throughput Computer Vision

The intelligence community is faced with an increasingly difficult challenge:  the amount of data far outstrips the number of analysts that exploit this data into actionable information. The era of deep convolutional neural networks has revolutionized data processing from a manual, feature based classification to an automatic, trainable architecture that can be used to solve a wide array of problems. These deep learning breakthroughs have been accompanied by massive improvements to highly parallelized processing architectures, like GPUs, and the development of several open source frameworks that support their development.  This effort focuses on developing solutions to provide such computing platforms and processing capabilities to forward-deployed environments. Etegent and partner, Harris Corporation, address operational deployment of object detection technology in a low SWaP environment processing far more pixels per watt than has ever been done.
